13th April First Round of Champion of Oulton

Following a successful pre-season test at Anglesey, Dave Billington had his first outing at Oulton Park on the following Friday for a day’s testing. Everything went according to plan and despite challenging track conditions in the morning with a very damp & greasy surface, Dave managed to reproduce his fastest time of the 2012 season. Everything was set for a the first 2 races of the year with a double header meeting. Dave qualified an excellent 15th out of 22 starters. During the race Dave made great progress and finished a superb 12th overall and more importantly recorded a personal best lap time of 1:56/43 sec a whopping 1.4 sec better than his previous best!! For the second race of the day, Dave started 12th and after a race long battle with Steve Coles finished a very creditable 15th. A great performance and the car ran faultlessly as well!!! Thanks to nephew Tom, and sons Alex & Chris for their help during the 3 days. Next round is back at Oulton on 25th May
