9th May Test Day Oulton Park: Will Alterman & Dave Billington

Friday 9th May saw myself, nephew Tom & son Chris running Dave Billington & a first outing with Will Alterman in his Reynard 89FF. A damp start saw both drivers a little cautious to begin with but, as th e track began to dry, the times came tumbling down. Dave equaled his previous best ever time on very worn rubber. This was a great effort especially considering that this was his first outing since the sheared flywheel incident a few weeks before. Will had a very encouraging start with DB Motorsport: on new tyres, he was very close to matching his personal best. All the more impressive considering that this was his first outing since October 2013. Apart from a small oil leak after his first session & a broken wire on the starter motor (which caused the car to cut out completely at the beginning of the second session) both of which were soon sorted, a trouble free day of running for both cars.
