Many of you may already know Gus our Gorilla mascot. Gus has been accompanying us to every race since I first started competing in 1985. in fact, he is probably the best known celebrity in the North West Formula Ford paddock. Recently, he has started supporting his favourite  Formula One team putting to bed any rumours that he was a Red Bull fan.

Friday 17th May saw me over at Donnington helping out on one of Book a Track’s very efficiently run corporate days. Had a great day: Paul O’Neil ( current ITV 4 Touring Car pundit ) was on hand to co-ordinate everything. The day stayed dry and everyone had an amazing day. Stayed on for the evening session and had a run in this glorious Porsche. What a machine!

Friday 10th May and I was down in Stafford for a super car experience day working for Driveme.net A really heavy rainstorm nearly washed the day out, but fortunately we managed to complete the day. I decided that I’d have something a little inconspicuous, what do you think?!!

Thursday 9th May saw back to Oulton Park for a corporate event. Mainly out in M3’s but the afternoon saw me taking part in the “Caterham Pursuit”. Dreadful weather saw me getting soaked to the skin, not helped when one of the clients spun the car through the biggest puddle (or should that be lake) in the paddock, the resultant “bow wave” went all over me! Saturday 4th May saw me at a very blustery but fortunately dry Elvington airfield for a super car experience day. Great day, met loads of people & had enourmous fun. My ride for the day was an Aston Martin Vantage Convertible. There must be harder ways to earn a living !!!

Wednesday 1st May saw me at Oulton Park to meet with Nick Mountfield and his son Sam. Nick is making his circuit debut this season racing a historic Triumph TR4  and is having his first race at Oulton on 11th May. We spent the day concentrating on lines, vehicle positioning and trying to build up Nick’s confidence.   The Week end of 27th & 28th April, saw me at Jaguar main dealers H A Fox in Leeds for the launch of the all new Jaguar F Type. What an amazing car ! Had a great couple of days meeting some very interesting people. Managed some test drives with roof down dodging the rain showers. Thanks to James and all his sales staff for making me so welcome. Just a pity I couldn’t take one home !!!  

Friday 26th April, saw me heading down to Donington for a Book a Track track day. Big corporate event, very busy day: spent most of my day in a Caterham, great fun!! Very hectic out on track with various GT cars out as a pre- test for this coming weekend’s British GT round. Some lovely classic machinery out as well.
