This is an annual race event for Formula Fords and it attracts drivers from all over the world, it consists of heats and the semi finals and the final. Spent the day dismantling the car in order to get ahead with the prep required for the 2014 season. This involved splitting the chassis and engine and then removing the engine from the bellhousing and gearbox assembly. All done!!

The last few race weekends of the year are traditionally the Formula Ford Festival and the Walter Hayes which are coming up this weekend and the weekend after. These are two of the biggest events of the season for a spectator and a competitor with the biggest entrys of the year with drivers competing from all over the world for the win in the final! This saw me at Silverstone instructing in Caterhams with it coming upto there final race weekend having most of the drivers never driven the international layout before. This is most of the drivers first competitive year of racing so I was jumping in out of caterham graduate cars all day offering my support. This saw me and my close friend Stuart Jones driving the truck down to Castle Combe on the Sunday night for BookaTrack. The day started off dry and got progressively worse throughout the day, so despite the weathers best efforts it was a great day with a good bunch of people.

This saw me in the JPLM driving people round on hot laps whilst showing them the track with one of my friends David Murphy who I used to race against in the formula ford championship. It was a very wet day which kept me on my toes. Jamie Jardine the Class D champion 2013 of the Formula Fords made his instructing debut.

This saw me and the Bailey pit crew at Oulton Park for the last 2 rounds of the BRSCC North West Formula Ford Championship, with Dave Billington at the wheel. On the Friday we had a very successful day with Dave setting his personal best laptime around the International circuit by over a second with a 1.55 Dave was thrilled with his time. Thursday 10th October this saw me at Cadwell Park (one of the tracks where the film rush was filmed). Had a great day instructing in Caterhams although wet most of the day. Well organised event once again by the BookaTrack Guys.

After coming back from Brands pretty late the previous evening, I had to knuckle down and start preparing Dave Billington’s Van Diemen Formula Ford for it last outing at Oulton Park on the 11th & 12th October. All was going well until I discovered 2 sheared engine mounting bolts… here we go again !!!!
